Playtime with my December Beauty Cocoon Box

Playtime is more fun when you see it in action so here is my video of me trying all of the products for the first time from my December 2017 Beauty Cocoon Box!

That was my last Beauty Cocoon Box as I have a lot of other makeup to get through. Also, the box isn’t quite what it says it is (for example, it says it’s a luxury box but there was an MUA Makeup Academy eye pencil in the last box!) which is a little annoying. Anyway, as always, here are some pics:

Beauty Cocoon Box First Impressions October 2017

Hey, so I filmed a video! I did it a few weeks ago but have only just been able to edit it. It thought I’d try something new by giving my first impressions of a new beauty box for women of colour called “Beauty Cocoon Box”.

There are two boxes to choose from: a beauty box which is makeup and makeup tools costing £21 (not £20 as I said in the vid) and a skincare box which costs £25. I went for the makeup box obviously!

I met Abi of Chrystal Images at a Keziah Connections networking event.  Abi is a makeup artist and she suggested that we do a collaboration, with me picking the theme. I was at a loss until I spotted a woman wearing gele on the Chrystal Images Instagram page. Inspiration suddenly hit – I’ve never worn gele before and it’s clearly a skill that Abi has so why not base my look on this intricate headwrap?

August Heat Face of the Day: Hyper-Strobing No Mascara

makeup flatlay patmcgrath skin fetish 003 makeup revolution iconic pro 2

We’ve had some extremely hot days this week (for the UK). Temperatures reached 33 (or more) degrees centigrade so it must have been unbearably hot on the London tubes.

I chose to wear a modified no-makeup makeup look. As was my usual for allergy season, there was no mascara. But this time I decided to use my Pat Mcgrath Labs Skin Fetish 003 Iridescent Pink 003 Pigment from the Nude set. I don’t buy Pat McGrath Labs (with a $25 shipping fee!) to play it safe!
