I have a variety of makeup to choose from and not much time to apply it so it’s the little additions that make all of the difference. On Friday I wore some new products and some of my favourites and decided I wanted to “up the glow” to catch the few rays of sun on this cloudy summer’s day. I didn’t have time to take any good selfies to I recreated the look yesterday where I had time to take photos but no time to post!
The glow kit
I used Iman Luxury Radiance Liquid Makeup in Clay 1 for a dewy, golden base. For my cheeks it was my favourite Bobbi Brown colour pop- Shimmer Brick in Nectar across the whole of my cheeks with a pop of Desert Pink blush for added colour. I strobed with the highlighter end of my Pat Magrath Labs highlighter stick from the nude Skin Fetish 002 collection, applying it to the high points of my cheekbones, middle of my chin, Cupid’s bow, bridge of my nose, middle of my forehead and under my brows. I blended it with the brush from the same collection or my fingers for smaller areas. For touch-ups during the day, for my nose I used Iman Luminous Foundation in Clay 1 which helped my keep up the golden glow with minimum effort.

The subtly sparkly eye kit
I decided to have fun. I used the Kiko In the Shade duo in 05 from the Wanderlust collection. I drew the pink onto my lids and lined the lower lash line with the grey – the optimistic silver lining. I then used YSL Vinyl Couture mascara in I’m the Clash No. 1 (black) and topped it with the same mascara in I’m the Fire No. 9 (gold topcoat)

The finishing touches
I did the usual with my brows – Bobbi Brown Mahogany eyeshadow and an angled brush but for my lips I tried something different.
I lined my lips with Bobbi Brown lip pencil in Heather (discontinued but Pale Mauve might be an alternative for a grey/purple shade). I followed with Rich Lip Colour lipstick in Lilac but that looked boring compared to the rest of my face so I tapped some of the Pat McGrath highlighter down the centre of my lips with my finger to add some ommph. I really is the little things that count!

When I recreated the look I also used primer – Benefit stay don’t stray and the POREfessional.
