I finally watched the Graham Norton Show that was aired on Friday 3rd June (I watch TV on my own time).
It was hilarious as always and Alicia Keys performed rocking big hair, a head wrap, sequin bomber jacket, tailored sports luxe jumpsuit and the no-makeup make-up look! It just looked so carefree, effortless and comfortable while I was here scratching the mascara out of my eyes because my hayfever tablets had worn off.

Her make-up perfectly complimented her new summer song, In Common.
From what I could see she had:
- Dewy skin- foundation only where needed
- Rosy cheeks – probably cream blush
- Natural pink gloss on the lips
- Brows naturally groomed in soft brown
- Warm red-brown eyeshadow up to the socket bone
- Eye gloss on lids only
- NO MASCARA!
- No eyeliner
This is a perfect look for hayfever/allergies sufferers. I find that pollen sticks to mascara so for much of summer I go mascara-free.
I tried this look out live on Periscope using:
Max Factor Facefinity All Day Primer applied with my Real Techniques tapered foundation brush
Benefit Stay Don’t Stray in medium/deep
Iman Luxury Radiance Makeup liquid foundation in Clay 1 applied with the Real Techniques buffing brush
Kitoko Mineral Foundation in Just Hue on my T-zone- I wanted glow not grease!
Clinique Just Browsing in Black/Brown brushed on against the direction on the hairs then in the direction of the hairs. I did the same on the other brow with Benefit Gimme Brow in Medium/Deep to show the options.
Makeup Revolution Blush Palette Blush Melts crème blush in the two brightest pink shades applied with the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge then blended with my fingers. I took the blusher from the apples to my temples and used the brighter of the two pinks on the apples of my cheeks for a colour pop. Alicia Keys’ rosy cheeks were the main feature
Bobbi Brown lip gloss in Pastel Pink for a natural pink shine
MAC matte eyeshadow in Swiss Chocolate applied and blended from the upper lash line up to the socket bone using Real Techniques brush 200
Pat McGrath Labs (!) Skin Fetish 003 Nude Shiny Stick balm tapped over one eyelid because I don’t have a MAC eye gloss. On the other lid I tried Bobbi Brown lip gloss in Crystal. The Bobbi Brown gloss is thicker, stickier and heavier but Bobbi Brown herself uses it for more than just lips. Besides, it is more accessible and not limited edition and makes a good alternative. I didn’t try it but I think Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream would also work.
I also tapped some of the Skin Fetish balm over my cheeks because they just weren’t dewy enough for this look!
I didn’t use mascara or eyeliner but if you feel you need to open up your eyes using mascara, use one coat of a brown or a brown-black if you have black lashes. Max Factor False Lash Effect would work and I like Seventeen doll’d up mascara in brown black. You could even try Benefit They’re Real tinted primer.

Before I had a chance to take pictures in good natural light the storm hit. I felt good in real life and almost looked like a teenager again (there are advantages and disadvantages to that) but the poor lighting in the photos made me look awful!

It’s a really down-to-earth look and I love it. Would you wear it?

Cuteee❤️❤️
