I’ve always been intrigued by Givenchy Phenomen’eyes. The medieval mace-like ball instead of a traditional mascara wand is quite intimidating. I had no idea how to use the spiky sphere to apply my make-up so I avoided it. Then, when I went for a make-up lesson at the Givenchy counter it all became clear. The ball is a genius invention! It allows for maximum control and enables me to grab, coat and stretch each and every lash, top and bottom. The best way to use the wand is to use it with the wand parallel to your nose, pushing the ball up underneath your lashes. It can be used sideways like a traditional mascara but using it the other way enables the ball to grip the lashes from the root and tightly hug the ball, leading to amazing curl, separation and length. It even adds a little bit of volume. It might seem time consuming to apply mascara with this ball but I actually apply all mascaras bit by bit across my lashes, pushing them up as I go. The difference here is that I get perfect results every time. Givenchy Phenomen’eyes is my current favourite luxury mascara!

Ha! If you’re prone to poking yourself in the eye it can be. I have spiked my eyeball before so I have to remember not to blink whilst applying mascara! My eye survived without a scratch so I still love this mascara!

When I first got the benefit they’re real mascara, I stabbed myself so many times. Lol. There’s a learning curve with wands like that.
