To enter a Instagram competition I created a “modern vintage” look by following the tutorial my Aimee Adams on London Beauty Queen‘s YouTube channel and blog post. She made it look so easy and guess what? It really is! This is what I used:
Base
Bobbi Brown Foundation Sticks in Golden 6 and Warm Almond 6.5 blended with my Real Techniques buffing brush
Benefit Stay Don’t Stray concealer and eyeshadow primer using my EcoTools Deluxe Concealer Brush
Benefit Boi-ing in shade 4 using my EcoTools Airbrush Concealer Brush
Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Powder in soft Honey 8 using my Real Techniques duo fiber face brush
Eyes
Maybelline Color Tatoo 24hr cream eyeshadow in 24k Gold (no longer available so try the same in Eternal Gold) applied using my e.l.f. eyeshadow “C” brush then blended with my finger
Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black 1 with an angled liner brush to draw winged eyeliner on the top lash line. I kept the lower lash line unlined.
The brown powder in my Beauty UK High Brow kit and an angled liner brush to defined my brows
L’Oreal Brown Artist Plumper in Dark Brunette
Maybelline the Falsies Volum’ Express Flared Mascara on the top lashes only

Face
Model Co Crème Rouge in Just Peachy applied with my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge
Lips
MAC lip pencil in Cherry all over my lips (as I don’t have a lip stain) followed my Rimmel Apocalips Lip Velvet in Burning Lava
I ended up taking 52 selfies to find the perfect picture! You can see my final choice if you look up “#cornsilkselfie” on Instagram. This look was surprisingly quick to do and I learned some really good make-up application tips from the video. Give it a go- just for fun!
