I bought the Bobbi Brown Skin Weightless Powder Foundation in Golden quite soon after it was released as I needed replacement for my Bobbi Brown Illuminating Finish Powder Compact Foundation. I was looking forward to what I hoped would be the new and improved version, although I didn’t think any improvement was needed. I had a quick colour match at the counter and brought it home.
This foundation is not quite light coverage – it’s barely there! It’s a lot lighter than the Illuminating Finish Powder which it replaced. Coverage doesn’t last all day which means I have to carry the foundation with me then I discovered that for some reason, mine didn’t travel well at all and broke a week later. The only thing I could use the powder for before it broke was as a finishing powder – which was really the job of its predecessor.
My attempted repair didn’t last long – it started to crumble again so I crushed it all up and stuck it in an old container. I’ll just use it as a loose finishing powder.
Unfortunately this has been a disappointment for me. I much prefer the formula of the Illuminating Finish Powder as this was great as a finishing powder and a foundation. It’s not often Bobbi Brown misses the mark but this Skin Weightless Powder Foundation just really didn’t work for me.
