Here’s a little summary of my favourite parts of BeautyCon London 2015:
The free goodies:
- Eylure Lashes
- Elegant Touch House of Holland nails
- Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleansers with muslin cloths
- NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in white
The discounted goodies available even though I was not allowed to indulge:
- Benefit beauty services and products
- Tarte products
- Crown Brush brushes and makeup
The panel talks:
Hi Hater, Bye Haters. It was great to see how the panel (CharismaStar, Amanda Steele, Tanner Zagarino, Sam Chapman, Nicole Husel and SierraMarieMakeup) coped with negative comments and even though it was difficult to deal with at the time, they all came out of the negative experiences much stronger. The talk was confidence boosting and inspiring.
How to Start the Next Great Beauty Channel on YouTube. It was nice to hear from YouTube staff on what makes an engaging channel and video in general, for example, branding, content but most importantly: passion! Also on the panel were two beauty vloggers – Sarocha B and Kaushal.
From just attending BeautyCon London and listening to the panel talks, I learned that every experience is an opportunity to learn. For example, I know that taking selfies is not one of my strengths. However, I discovered my best angle by accident with the help of one of the lovely ladies at Liz Earle but unfortunately I was unable to replicate it. More practice needed I think!
The key messages I took away from the day were:
- Practice, practice, practice. Practice the selfies, practice the lash application…the list goes on!
- Know yourself and be yourself.
- Just do it!
I had an amazing day so next time BeautyCon comes to London, I hope I can make it!
