I have dry, curly hair. Curly hair needs a lot of care and it’s best to use products which will nourish and form the curls without drying the hair out. Unfortunately I also have a sensitive scalp. I have previously used Philip Kingsley products for my scalp care and I like to use Kerastase for curl care so I was very happy when I discovered Kerastase Bain Riche Dermo-Calm shampoo. It meant I could stay within the brand so hopefully the products would be more compatible.
My haircare regime then consisted of Kerastase Bain Riche Dermo-Calm shampoo, Kérastase Oléo-Curl Intense hair mask as a conditioner, curl cream then L’Oréal Elvive Extraordinary Oil to finish. This regime meant both my scalp and my curls were looked after.
The shampoo itself has a calming effect on my scalp and my mind! If “gentle” had a scent, this would be it. I can’t think of another word to describe it. Kerastase Bain Riche Dermo-Calm leaves my scalp clean and soothed without drying it out and my hair feels clean and light. It creates just the right amount of lather when massaged in. Luckily this is all I need for the moment although I know there is a masque and a serum available in case my scalp health deteriorates.
I would still use the Philip Kingsley’s Flaky Itchy Scalp range if my scalp returned to an unbearable state but for general, regular use, Kerastase Bain Riche Dermo-Calm just about wins because I prefer the scent!
