When Makeup Revolution was born I was on a spending ban. I had to wait a whole month, watching on the blogs and Instagram what everyone else was managing to snap up. It was painful.
This year, on Makeup Revolution’s first birthday, I was able to spend. I simple couldn’t resist, especially when I would receive a gift worth £25 if I spent £25. Here are the latest additions to my Makeup Revolution collection:
Ultra Face Base Foundation in FB 03 Yellow Tone, FB 10 Mid Tone and FB 14 Dark Tone. I bought these to try contouring with liquid foundation but I have no idea if these are the correct shades! I’m hoping they will be ok as the Makeup Revolution website gives tone information as well as shade.
I ❤ Makeup Eye Primer – a gift!
I bought The ONE Fluid Blusher in Rush Me and Pink Sea as an alternative to Daniel Sander’s Watercolor fluid blusher. I wanted his shades in Acid (bright orange) and Trip (bright pink) but I really couldn’t justify £15.50 each on something I might not even be able to work with! I thought I’d try the Makeup Revolution versions to get used to the concept. That, and I don’t really like cream blusher so I figured liquid blusher might be a good alternative.
Vivid Blush Lacquer in O’ Boy – a gift, but then I naughtily ordered some more!
Ultra Blush Palettes in Hot Spice and Sugar and Spice. I think people neglect their cheeks but there’s nothing like a pop of blusher to brighten the whole face.
I bought the Iconic Pro 1 as an alternative to the Smashbox Full Exposure Palette as the shades are similar. I also wanted to try the brush as I always use a brush to apply my makeup. I had to order an Eat Sleep Makeup Repeat palette as I think a set of bright eyeshadow shades are essential, and you never know when you might need a fluorescent pop!
I received Pure Pigments in Levity and Starless as gifts.
I ordered the Atomic shades of Make It Right which is dark purple and Make Me Magnificent in light purple as purple goes well with my skintone. I also just had to try Atomic Serpent which is a dark green because for £1, there was no excuse not to.
As gifts I received Amazing Care lipsticks in Love Pink! and Electric Love and #LIPHUG lipstick in We have come too far.
Also as gifts I received the I am powerful palette which contains 6 eyeshadows and a complimentary lipstick, and I ❤ Makeup Go! to the City which contains 6 eyeshadows, two blushers and a highlighter.
You can see why the spending ban is needed!
