If you follow me on Instagram you might recall that one miserable February day I decided to play around with my nails. I don’t often to nail art because my nails almost always chip the next day.
As beautiful as my Barry M Matte Nail Paint in Caramel is, I needed to liven it up.
The full “livening-up kit” consisted of: OPI Nail Envy as a base coat (not pictured), Barry M Matte Nail Paint in Caramel, Barry M Nail Paint in Mint Green, Barry M Nail Paint in Yellow Topaz and No7 Nail Effects matte topcoat and Revlon Quick Dry Topcoat.

All nails had a base of OPI Nail Envy, two coats of Barry M Matte Nail Paint in Caramel and one coat of No7 Nail Effects matte topcoat. I then added the other colours on top.
Thumb: Barry M Nail Paint in Yellow Topaz followed by No7 Nail Effects matte topcoat. I love the matte gold glitter look.

Index finger: Barry M Nail Paint in Yellow Topaz followed by No7 Nail Effects matte topcoat and finished with two coats of Barry M Nail Paint in Mint Green diagonally down from the top of the nail.

Middle finger: One freehand stripe of Barry M Nail Paint in Mint Green to cover one third of my nail from top to bottom followed by two freehand stripes of Revlon Quick Dry Topcoat to cover the mint green stripe and to create a shiny middle stripe which was one third of the size of my nail. I ended up with three equal stripes.

Ring finger: For a twist on a French manicure, I gauged how large the tip should be then mentally divided it in half across the nail. On the top half of the tip I painted Barry M Nail Paint in Mint Green across the nail then using the Revlon Quick Dry Topcoat I painted over the mint green again, across the nail and then painted another strip across the nail just underneath.

Little finger: I really like my diagonals! I painted a triangle down from the top of my nail with Barry M Nail Paint in Mint Green (two coats) then carefully sealed this triangle with Revlon Quick Dry Topcoat.

It was fairly simple and quite fun! Which is your favourite?
