This Crabtree & Evelyn Nail Lacquer in Avocado is not currently on the website so I assume it is popular!
To get the full Crabtree & Evelyn benefit, I applied the clear shade as a base coat and top coat as according to the website. The site says that the nail colours are fast-drying, glossy, and long-lasting if two coats are applied.
Unfortunately I disagree. In the shop, the nail colour dried quickly over my existing nail polish but when I did the full on manicure, it took a long time to dry – I tried to air dry them out of the car window (yes, that is what you read) but when this failed I sprayed on some Elegant Touch Rapid Dry for Nails. The colour was glossy for a day or two then this faded! As for long lasting, the colour did not last any longer than the other brands I wear. Taking all this into account, I’m not sure why the shop assistant thinks this is anything like Shellac.
However, I am not deterred, this is a gorgeous colour – a multi-tonal metallic olive green. I have no idea why it is called Avocado – the name is completely detached from the colour. It complements my skin tone and goes with everything. It’s easy to apply and the bottles are cute. Also, they only cost £6.
This colour has now become one of my favourites, and despite what I see as failure on all of the claims, I will go back for more! Next time I wear this I’ll stick to my usual OPI Nail Envy and quick dry topcoat combination!
