Net-a-Porter is “the world’s premier online luxury fashion retailer” and they have been selling beauty products for one year now. I am usually a high street girl, with the odd department store beauty counter thrown in for base products but I’ve always wanted to try beauty products from this luxury service.
I am a fan of the Net-a-Porter brand. I read the Edit, the online fashion magazine and even purchased Porter on the day of release. When I discovered Peter Pilotto for Target was selling on Net-a-Porter (the furthest by budget will stretch!) I ordered as many pieces as I could. I loved receiving the giant black box with the ribbon tied around it – service is very important to me.
The one thing that stopped me buying beauty products is the postage and packaging cost. Yes is it luxurious and yes it is delivered by DHL but as a proportion of the cost of the product, I could not justify it to myself. Then, when there was a limited period of free postage & packaging, I seized the opportunity!
Ilia Balmy Nights Lip Exfoliator because with all the matte lipsticks I’ve been trying out, I needed to sort out my lips. The old toothbrush trick was not working anymore!
Brow Fix Primer by Anastasia Beverly Hills. I needed some kind of brow wax and it was also suggested that this could be used as a colourless lip liner. Multitasking products always sound good to me!
I almost ordered the Eve Lom Kiss Mix and I also toyed with the idea of buying Ilia Balmy Days lip conditioner in “no-tint” but decided my very un-luxury Blistex repair balm would do. Unfortunately I have misplaced my little pot of Blistex. I wish I did order the Kiss Mix as it is currently out of stock. You win some, you lose some!
My order came in the signature black box tied with the ribbon. I’ll review the Ilia Balmy Nights on the skincare blog and will let you know when I get around to trying my Brow Fix!
Have any of you used the Ilia Balmy Days or Eve Lom Kiss Mix? I would love to know what you think!
