I did some damage during Boots 3 for 3 this month with all of the new spring products. I sensibly settled for the make-up products below. The nail colours I purchased are on my nails blog.
Real Techniques Limited Edition duo-fiber collection. So many bloggers love Real Techniques and I wanted to know what the fuss is about. I usually buy my brushes individually – I’m quite fussy like that, but I decided to give this collection a try. If I like it, I will try the blush brush and the lip brush because I really need those! This set contains a face brush for lightweight application. I wanted an alternative to my EcoTools powder brush to set my makeup. I always like to have at least two of the same or similar brush so I can use one for application and one for blending, or to use when the other one is drying. I actually just realised that I have an e.l.f. Studio powder brush. Oops!
The set also has a contour brush and I’m finding that contouring is a girl’s best friend! This will accompany my e.l.f. Studio contouring brush. Finally, there is a fluffy eye brush which I thought I could use to blend, as an alternative to my No7 eyeshadow and blending brush.
I also picked up the much talked about Real Techniques miracle complexion sponge. I don’t really wear liquid foundation and I like light coverage, that’s if I bother with foundation at all, which is why I have put off this purchase. I also mainly stick to brushes. I think I will use this to apply my e.l.f. cream bronzer and cream blush as I didn’t have too much luck with any of my brushes!
I then wandered over to the Maybelline section. I want all of the Maybelline Color Tattoos! I picked up 24K Gold for the wow factor and I saw a great gold eyebrow look in a magazine that I want to try. Let’s hope it can cover black eyebrows. I also picked up the Color Tattoo in Pink Gold as I don’t have a good pink eyeshadow which looks pretty rather than making me look like I have sore eyes!
Finally, I picked up a Maybelline colorsensational lipstick in 740 Coffee Craze which is part of the Stripped Nudes collection. Finally, a collection of brown nudes! I have far too many pinks masquerading as nude so this is great! There is a similar range in the USA called The Buffs. I love a nude lip and this is what I would call “very nude”! I was lucky to get it as one or more inconsiderate people ruined the display and opened non-testers.
If you have any of these I’d love to know your thoughts!
