This is the third and final new Colorburst crayon I bought (for now!). The Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm in Ingénue is a sheer hi-shine brown-pink which makes it a good nude for me. I guess maybe you could call it a pink-beige. The colour is buildable which will be more noticeable on paler lips. On my dark lips it intensifies the shine while giving the hint of pink I need to bring out the best in my natural lip colour. I can swipe this on without a mirror, just like a tinted balm.
The shine is highly reflective like the packaging, rather than being a shiny lacquer like a gloss. The advantages over gloss are that it’s not sticky at all, it glides on like a dream and you barely notice it’s there, except for the slight mint scent (a little strange) and the fact that my lips feel actively moisturised. There’s no need to wear a separate balm before applying the Lacquer Balms. The disadvantage is that it doesn’t last as long as gloss.
As with Coy, I think I have now been converted from gloss! I’m normally all about staying power but this is such a great multi- tasking product which is a joy to wear. Ingénue is a perfect alternative to clear gloss for me. It gives me the shine and the hint of colour adds a little depth. I’m very happy with this one!
As the colour is sheer and buildable, it’s easy to blend with other colours. Ingénue combined with Coy gives me the perfect lip colour. I get the depth of the brown with the highlight of the pink which is all mega shiny to make my lips look full.
These Lacquer Balms are great!
