I picked up the Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm in Coy thinking it was Ingénue but on the way to the till I noticed it was a little dark. When I wandered back to the Revlon stand I didn’t want to part with it. I think it’s because I like the packaging! I know that a good lip colour will enhance the whole face. For me, brown just does not do that. I need a bit of pink.
Coy is a hi-shine warm metallic brown lip crayon. It’s sheer but the colour is easily buildable if a stronger colour is required so I scribble on loads. It glides on smoothly like a balm, and has a mint scent like a balm. This is not a lacquer by consistency but it does leave the lips very shiny like a lacquer would. Better than a lacquer, it is not sticky or gloopy, and you can barely feel it is there – apart from the mint tingle which soon fades. It’s like a tinted mega-moisturiser for lips!
It has less staying power than a lipgloss but it is more comfortable than gloss. I am a gloss girl but I think I have been converted!
I like to wear this mixed with the Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm in Ingénue to make my perfect lip colour – a mix of dusky pink and brown. It’s very quick and easy to get a custom lip colour due to the fact the Lacquer Balms are sheer but have just the right amount of colour in them.
I’ll post my Ingénue review tomorrow with a photo of Coy and Ingénue worn together. If you can’t wait, I posted a quick snap on my Twitter gallery here. You can read my Matte Balm post here. Enjoy!
