Sorry for the delay – I didn’t take any photos on New Year’s Eve (crazy, right?) so I had to recreate the look. The theme was…sparkle!
I’ll start with the clothing:

- Short black metallic jumper from H&M
- High waist super skinny black jeans from Dorothy Perkins
- Black glitter skinny belt from Accessorize
- Silver and gold long necklace worn doubled up from Oasis
- Large dark cocktail ring from Monsoon
- Clear cocktail ring from Dorothy Perkins
- Betty Jackson Black platform ankle boots (see Outfits to Match the Face: December 2013 here)
- Black square stud earrings
I went for all black so I could have some fun with my make-up. As you know from my Red Lips post, I chose one of them and I will reveal it here.
First, here is my face without the glitter and glam:

I’m wearing:
- YSL La Teint Touche Eclat foundation in 107 Beige
- Bobbi Brown Illuminating Finish Powder Compact Foundation SPF12 in Golden 6
- Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer in Golden under my eyes
- Sleek Face Contour Kit in Medium 885
- Kiko Infinity eyeshadow in 204 from my lids to my brows as a base
- MAC Lip Pencil in Cherry
- MAC matte lipstick in Ruby Woo
- MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack to line the top lashline and flick out
- Lancôme le Crayon Khol in 01 Noir on the waterline
- HD Brows Palette in Foxy
- Maybelline the Falsies Volum’ Express Flared mascara in Very Black on top and bottom lashes
I used:
- EcoTools Flat Foundation brush to apply the YSL foundation
- EcoTools powder brush to apply my Bobbi Brown foundation
- Bobbi Brown Cream Blending brush to apply the concealer
- Models Own angled blush brush to apply the light and dark colours in the Sleek palette to contour my face
- Models Own blusher brush to blend the contour colours
- The angled liner on my Bella Pierre dual brush to define my brows in Dark Brown from the HD Brows palette
- MAC brush 239 to apply the Warm Brown colour from the HD Brows palette to the crease of my eyelids
- Models Own shading brush to apply the Nude colour from the HD Brows palette under my brows to highlight
- No7 eyeshadow and blending brush to blend the colour in the crease
- No7 eyeshadow brush to apply the Kiko eyeshadow
- MAC brush 209 to apply the Fluidline
Then I added
- Bourjois Effet 3D Gloss in 18 Transparent using my fingers
- The dark grey glitter from the MUA Luxe glitter palette in Diva using my Ruby & Millie angled eye brush (no longer available), all over the Fluidline
To look like this:

Unfortunately, although I really like this look, it was not successful! The lipstick did not like the gloss and it went all smudgy, even when I dabbed on the tiniest amount of gloss. I had to do matte lips for the rest of the night. Worse, the glitter is not party proof. The house party I went to was great and I love nothing more than to dance. I danced hard and my make-up failed – I ended up with glitter everywhere and looked awful! I gave this glitter a last chance and it disappointed me.
I should have stopped at the first face as this would have been dance proof. Oh well, you live and learn!

You look lovely here! Nice make-up 🙂
