This look is fairly simple although I do find the glitter difficult to work with. I also found it difficult to photograph but that’s probably down to my basic camera skills and lack of natural light!
This look can go with any outfit as it is basically an intensified black eyeliner. The eyeliner is made 3D by the green, blue, orange, gold and other glitter colours but it not overpowered by them.
I prepared the eye area by using Bobbi Brown Corrector in Dark Bisque applied with my Bobbi Brown Cream Blending Brush. I then applied Kiko Make Up Milano Infinity Eyeshadow to my lids up to my brows using my No7 eyeshadow brush. Using the same brush I applied MAC eyeshadow in Expensive Pink (Veluxe Pearl) to my lids and into the crease. I defined my brows using the Dark Brown colour in my HD Brows Foxy Palette and my Bare Minerals Angled Liner brush. I used the Nude colour to highlight under my brows using my Models Own shading brush. I blended all the colours using my No7 eyeshadow brush. I set the corrector with my Bobbi Brown Illuminating Finish Powder Compact Foundation SPF12 in Golden 6. I lined my waterline with Lancôme le Crayon Khol in 01 Noir.
I then applied the Seventeen Lacquer Liner in black along the top lashline. I made it fairly thick and winged as this is the base for the glitter. The glitter will melt the eyeshadow so it must stay on the eyeliner. I waited for it to dry, which doesn’t take long, then using my Ruby & Millie angled eye brush, I gently pressed on the multi coloured glitter in my MUA Luxe Glitter Eye Palette in Rock Chick. I covered all of the black eyeliner.
I finished by applying two coats of Maybelline the Colossal Volum’ Express Cat Eyes Mascara in Wild Black to my top and bottom lashes. Be careful not to get any of the glitter gel on the lashes because it will stick them together and make it difficult to apply mascara. Also, try not to get glitter so high up the lid that it imprints in the crease. It will mess up the eyeshadow and leave glitter there. I did this, many times!
This glitter look is subtle enough to wear with bold lips at night. I would go for hot pink with a matte contoured face.
Unfortunately Ruby & Millie has been discontinued.
