When I did this look I was feeling rebellious! I didn’t want a perfectly ‘done’ face. I wanted it to look like the make-up equivalent of worn jeans or bedhead. This look would be from the morning after a crazy night where I just about managed a slick of lipstick to try and redeem myself. I’ve attempted to look like a moody rock chick in the photos!
I’m wearing my YSL La Teint Touche Eclat foundation in 107 Beige applied with my EcoTools foundation brush and No7 Natural Blush Tint Powder in Coral Flush applied with my No7 blusher brush.
On my lips I’m wearing two coats of Apocalips by Rimmel in 101 Celestial.
For my eyes, I used my Benecos Kajal pencil in black (not pictured because I stupidly lost it!) and lined my upper and lower lashline. I then used my MAC brush 239 to smudge the kajal into the lower lashline. Using the kajal that was deposited on the brush, I blended the kajal into the crease and just generally around the eyelid – nice and messy! I lightly blended the kajal on the upper lashline and again smudged the residue on the brush into my lids and crease completely without discipline. I finished the look with two coats of Bobbi Brown Lash Glamour Extreme Lengthening Mascara in Black on the top and bottom lashes.
I have un-groomed eyebrows, shiny skin and unruly eyelashes as well as smudgy make up. Somehow, despite the mess I really like it!
I think if I was to go all out “next day” like Lucy Mangan in Stylist Magazine, I would pair the eyes with the smudgy red lip from autumn, or a red-orange stain. Let me know if you want me to try it!
