Now what’s with this floating eyeliner trend? I first saw it in Stylist Magazine‘s Trend on Trial then again in this week’s Grazia magazine. It’s a great catwalk look but can I make it work for the everyday person?
The first time I tried this, I was told I looked like I had extra eyebrows and should never do it again!
Let me know what you think. This is my second attempt using Seventeen Lacquer Liner in black.

Just a quick note, the Seventeen Lacquer Liner is quick to dry which is great for something like this but it looked a bit odd after a short while – it looked like it wrinkled! If I wear this look this again, I’ll use my MAC Fluidline. This look has grown on me and I quite like it! The problem is, this is so fiddly and I’m really impatient, I probably won’t do it again.
The full face kit I used is:
Bobbi Brown Natural Finish Long Last Foundation SPF 15 in Golden 6
Bobbi Brown Illuminating Finish Powder Compact Foundation SPF 12 in Honey 5
Bobbi Brown Dark Peach Corrector
Bobbi Brown Dark Bisque Corrector
Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer in Golden
Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Loose Powder in Pale Yellow
Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact in Nectar
Bare Minerals Face Color 36077 “Warmth”
Bobbi Brown Eyeshadow in Mahogany 10
Nivea Lip Butter Vanilla & Macadamia
Seventeen Perfect Pout Lip Liner in Rose Blush
Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express Mascara Flared in black
Seventeen Lacquer Liner Wet Look Finish in black
Tools:
Ecotools Powder Brush
Ruby & Millie angled eye brush
Clinique travel sized blusher brush
Bobbi Brown Cream Blending (concealer) brush
Ruby & Millie travel sized blusher brush
No7 foundation brush
Models Own powder brush

Unfortunately the following are no longer available:
- Anything by Ruby & Millie – it has been discontinued.
- Bobbi Brown Natural Finish Long Last Foundation SPF 15 in Golden 6 – I believe this has been replaced with Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation SPF 15.
- Seventeen Lip Liners – they appear to have been replaced with lip crayons.
